HOLLAND 12-BORE '1862 PATENT' PUSH-FORWARD UNDERLEVER SNAP-ACTION HAMMERGUN, serial no. 1892, for 1871, 30in. black powder only barrels, rib engraving indistinct, acanthus scroll detailing at the breech-end, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. in both, wall thicknesses well below recommended minimum, action incorporating Daw patent underlever centre fire action, patent no. 1594 of 27th May 1862 (improved on licensed Schneider patent 1487 of 11th June 1861), carved serpentine fences, back-action sidelocks with rebounding hammers, bold acanthus scroll engraving, bright and blued finish, 14 1/4in. figured stock including buttplate, weight 6lb. 9oz.
